intellectualglo asked:
i am planning on ordering an amd athlon processor from a Singaporean seller and would like to know if it would still function if i put it in a US motherboard. is this possible? voltage issues? etc. thanks for the insight whoever answers
Check the processor spec’s at the AMD website. Should be the same the world over,(also check mobo spec’s, to really be sure it’s compatible with the cpu.) The only thing that changes to my knowledge, is the power supply voltage setting, either 110 volts AC, or 220.
yes
i wont matter on where the seller is or where the chip is from.
what matters is that the motherboard and chip are compataible as far as the the socket. meaning if a chip is socket A it will not work with a socket 775 (which yes i know is intel) but you get the idea. if the borad says socket A on it and you dont have a sockt A chip then the chip is useless.
its kinda like putting a 350 in a escort. sure it would be cool as hell but the damn thing just wont fit.
what matters is if it is compatible
