Well, the first guys answer was completely wrong, I mean absolutely completely wrong.  The Core 2 Duos highest model is more powerful, but it is more expensive.  I mean seriously, he couldn&#039;t be more wrong.  However the third teir Core 2 Duo, the E6600 is also more powerful that AMDs top one, but is less money.</description>

AMD X2&#039;s highest model is better then the Intel Core 2 highest model, but the Core 2 duo is much less expensive, Intel Core 2 Duo is really the best way to go, you will get much more performance out of your money.

Although AMD&#039;s quad core&#039;s are just around the corner, so you may want to wait and see how good those are, but if you need a CPU right now, then  Intel core 2 duo is the way to go.

- @ Person below me, I&#039;m assuming you don&#039;t know about the additions to the AMD X2 line recently released. It no longer stops at 5200+</description>
