I agree with Mysticman, Core 2 Duo’s ***** anything AMD has.

Well, the first guys answer was completely wrong, I mean absolutely completely wrong. The Core 2 Duos highest model is more powerful, but it is more expensive. I mean seriously, he couldn’t be more wrong. However the third teir Core 2 Duo, the E6600 is also more powerful that AMDs top one, but is less money.

AMD X2’s highest model is better then the Intel Core 2 highest model, but the Core 2 duo is much less expensive, Intel Core 2 Duo is really the best way to go, you will get much more performance out of your money.

Although AMD’s quad core’s are just around the corner, so you may want to wait and see how good those are, but if you need a CPU right now, then Intel core 2 duo is the way to go.

- @ Person below me, I’m assuming you don’t know about the additions to the AMD X2 line recently released. It no longer stops at 5200+
