Which is better an AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core processor TK-53 or a intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5250?

49erfan asked:

I’m getting a new Dell Inspiron notebook and I can’t decide which processor to get. Either the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core processor TK-53 or a intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5250.

Well, there both ok… I say get the Intel, but I don’t like Dell so…

  • ghi s:

Intel Core 2 Duo is a cool running chip, one of the coolest actually. it is designed for low power consumption and low heat and is one of the main reasons Apple used it in their laptops. AMD excels in high performance chips.

  • Colin H:

At the moment all the Intel core 2 duo chips work better than the AMD equivalent.

  • asen:

some of the amd tunion 64 x 2, TL series do compete with the intel core 2 duo’s
    no other series …

    > T5250 … simple !

    edit:
to correct Colin above me, the TL-60 / TL-64 outdo many a T5xx0
true > no turion manages to outdo the T7×00
