I want to purchase a PC with processor of AMD which is equivalent to Intel Core2 Duo processor. What is the name of AMD processor which is equivalent to Intel Core2 Duo processor
You need more information like the clock speed, L2 Cache size and FSB speed. There are presently 12 Core2 Duo processors from Intel. AMD has about 8 ea. X2 type equivalents.
You’ll have to be a bit more specific. Generally speaking, AMD’s Athlon 64 X2 line competes against Intel’s Core 2 Duo line, but the Core 2 Duos are newer and pretty much dominate the X2 line across the board.
You’ll need to pick a particular Core 2 Duo like an E4300, E6600 etc. to determine which Athlon X2 (if any) offers comparable performance. For some of the newer Wolfdale C2D chips, you need a Phenom to stay competitive (but that’s apples & oranges, since Intel has Core 2 Quad)
The X2 4000+ performs about the same as the C2D E6400 in Unreal Tournament, While the X2 5600+ performs about like a C2D E6600.
For 3D Studio Max, the Core 2 Duos pull farther ahead- you need an X2 6000+ to keep pace with the E6600 for that application. And the 4600+ drops way back, behind the entry-level E4300.
AMDS’s X2 line is a good alternative to Intel’s cheaper dual-core (non-Core 2 Duo) chips like the E2200, E2180 and earlier 65mm Core 2 Duos, but just doesn’t compare to the newer 45mm Wolfdale cpus.
See the Tom’s Hardware charts- AMD processors in green, Intel in blue. Hopefully this helps a bit!

Itd be the Athlon64X2 series of cpu. go with one using the am2 or am2+ socket as the 939 is discontinued.
AMD X2
