what is the AMD equivilant to intell’s Core 2 Extreme Quad QX6850 Processor?

The AMD Phenom is the closest you can get to that Intel CPU right now, but it will be slower.
nothing amd puts out is equivalent to intel you could make an 8 core amd system and it might match up or be a little faster
AMD has fallen behind intel in the last 1 – 2 years, and is having a hard time catching up.
Right now Intel is your best bet for the most speed, but to keep your parts the same you may have to settle for the AMD Phenom, which still is fairly quick.
