I currently have an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ installed on my mobo. I’ve had the system now since christmas (and no, i’m not a christmas user) and have had no problems with any of the games I’ve installed thus far.
I’ve heard the same stories before I built this system and was really quite scared to switch from pentium to AMD.
I would imagine some games would have problems if the processor doesn’t meet minimum requirements.
It isn’t that the processor isn’t compatible with the game. The game is not compatible with the processor. The difference is in how the game utilizes the processor. Pentium is a fuller featured processor than AMD. Which is why AMD is cheaper. Some games require the full utilization of the processor and others don’t. I have an AMD and for Pacific Storm, I have to close all programs with Smart Close to run it.
the brand AMD itself, no it shouldnt have a problem. what really matters is how fast the processor is. for example, the latest AMD processor can run, say, battlefield 2, while an intel pentium will have a hard time with the same game.
again, its not the brand, but how fast and powerful the processor is

I don’t think so… I really don’t see how it would as a processor simply “processes” the information sent to it.
I had a Alienware with a AMD 64×2 6000+ processor, Honestly AMD has its pro’s and Cons, Do I like it? Not really. Not as much as Intel.

THAT IS NOT quite TRUE!!!!!!!!(only a few)
AMD is will run smoothly in 99.9% of games.
