The Centrino line of processors is going to be faster pound-for-pound versus an AMD processor, AND is significantly more efficient for greater battery life.

As is generally the case, you get what you pay for. I&#039;d say go with the Intel, and spend the rest of your money on an ADH service plan or upgrading to 3GB of RAM (Don&#039;t get 4GB...your computer won&#039;t recognize it anyway...)</description>

Well, I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 running on AMD64 Turion TL50. It&#039;s good enough for me for emails, photos, word processing. Simple games that are not graphic intensive are also ok. If that&#039;s acceptable, save that $200 for other stuffs.</description>
