Can an AMD Athlon processor computer handle the original Sims game?

It’s an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 64. I have 200 GHz and 896 MB of RAM.

From whom ever you heard that computer games can only be played on Pentium’s, tell that person he is an idiot. The AMD will run you the game with no problem.
Thats more than enuff to handle the Sims. I used to play it with an athlon xp single core 1.2 ghz and 512 RAM with no hiccups. Athlons are just a much for gaming as business.

AMD is the lower budget processor but it’s also the gaming brand
Yea Intel benches better but all around just in gaming AMD has the leading edge and Intel is better for computer intensive applications and processing.
And an athlon 64 x2 would not be 200 MHz…so is that the CPU you have currently?
ANY ATHLON 64 x2 will play sims without a problem but if you have a problem than it will be your RAM or Video card
